Occasionally I like to take a day and do a shoot just for myself. When Kaleigh did her first fairytale shoot last year, we chatted about our shared love for fairytales and she invited me to be a part of the rest of the series. I was super excited! After a long chat about our ideas for a bunch more fairytale characters, our Ariel shoot, and now our Snow White shoot, I can’t wait to see how the rest of these shoots turn out! :)

Thanks so much to Kaleigh, Kristyn, Nancy (Brideface), Olivia (Sableux), Wendy’s, Cincy Event Planning, and All Occasions for the great job they did! To see more, check out Kaleigh’s blog post!

One of the best ways I know to stay sharp in my creativity is to do an occasional shoot just for me. Sure, I take a TON of photos of my kids, but there’s something about working on a project that you’ve never worked on before and executing a vision that makes it particularly fun. So when I was talking to Kaleigh about her Red Riding Hood shoot and she mentioned doing more fairytale shoots, I asked if I could do them with her. I’ve always loved fairytales and knew that this would be a creative outlet I would really enjoy, so we got together for a little brainstorming session. We have so many good ideas and lots of fun in store!!! We decided that Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid would be a good place to start. After our planning/model scouting meeting, I kind of left the shoot in Kaleigh’s hands. She worked for months on finding the right dress and our original vision just never materialized. Then she came across this dress – flowing material like we wanted… but pink. She made the jump to Ariel’s pink dress in Disney’s take on the fairytale and it all came together. Kaleigh even designed invitations for us to photograph. Pure awesomeness. :) I’ve had such a fantastic time with this project and trust me, it’s just beginning! I can’t wait to share these little pieces of our common love for fairytales as they come to life.

Thanks to our beautiful model, Christy, for representing Ariel well! I also want to give a special shout out to Nancy of Brideface who did an absolutely fabulous job on Christy’s makeup! Thank you SO MUCH, Nancy!! And thanks most of all to Kaleigh. I’m so appreciative that you’ve let me in on this project that’s so dear to you. I know you know that I feel exactly the same way! ;) I couldn’t do this without you, friend!

Thanks so much for all the feedback about the video I made of the kids! I love doing things like that and it’s so nice to hear that you enjoyed watching it as much as I enjoyed making it! :)

Thanks!
Annie

And just for fun, here’s a couple shots of our sweet girl as a bride from the other day!
