I’ve always been a big believer that where you come from prepares you for where you’re going. And as soon as I walked into Jeannett’s childhood home, I could see exactly why Jeannett is the kind, happy person that she is. Her family is exactly the same way. I smiled as I watched how Jeannett interacted with her family – how much her nieces and nephews look up to her, how close she and her sisters are, and how her parents watched their daughter dress up as the beautiful bride they’d always known she’d be. It is always beautiful to witness a house that revolves around a family’s love for one another.
Mike’s family was no different. I didn’t get to spend the day with them, but I could see it in his mom’s eyes. And I could hear it in his sister’s voice whenever she spoke about him. They had it too – that same love.
It’s the same for Jeannett and Mike. They have that comfortable, deep love that takes years for many people to build. The kind of love that will last. The same kind of love that was passed down to them when they were kids. It’s beautiful.
To me, the most amazing thing about two people finding each other and sharing that kind of love is the way you can see families begin to intertwine. Especially families that have close relationships. All 4 of Jeannett and Mike’s siblings who spoke at the reception talked about how great it was that their sibling had found the perfect match and how wonderful it was to welcome them into the family. But my favorite moment of all was when Jeannett’s dad teared up and just couldn’t find the words to say how happy he was. I hope I feel like that when my own kids get married – that I love the person they’ve picked so much that I can’t even put it into words.
Jeannett and Mike :: Thank you so much for welcoming us as a part of your wedding day. It was a pleasure to work with both of you and meet your wonderful families. I just know you guys will have a fantastic life together.

Just after the picture above and before Jeannett and Mike walked up those steps, I caught this. I love how they took the time to hold each other.

It is beyond words how lucky we feel to have had the Varlands photograph our wedding. Not only are they amazingly talented, but they are kind, genuine and fun! On more than one occasion, Mike and I remarked to each other that having Annie & Toby around felt as natural as being around close friends or family.
Thank you, Annie and Toby, for being part of our special day, and for inspiring us with your talents and love for each other
