Over the next week or so, I’ll be posting lots of pictures of the gorgeous Amanda! She’s a fellow photographer in Cincinnati and we had loads of fun trashing her wedding dress this past Sunday!!! Amanda’s been married for six years now and for those six years, her dress has been sitting in her closet… waiting for this. = ) Toby and I were so glad to have the opportunity to work with Amanda – she is absolutely fantastic!
Usually I blog events in one post, but we covered several different locations and I’m going to have a post for each location that we visited. My hope is that this will give all you brides out there an idea of all of the options there are for “trashing” your dress. Amanda’s session is a great example of the various levels that a Trash the Dress session can hit. It can be super mild with portraits that simply color a little bit outside the lines. Or it can be crazy. Just wait until the last post!!! = )
So why did we visit so many locations in one day? I’m so excited to be a part of a Trash the Dress workshop that will involve 8 different photographers from Indiana to Georgia!!! In early November, Toby and I will be working with Chris, Allie, Amanda, Cailyn, Sarah, and Shelia (along with several models). We’re doing an all day series of Trash the Dress shoots and I cannot wait! Since the workshop will be in Cincinnati, Amanda and I are scouting awesome locations. Her Trash the Dress session this past weekend was the perfect opportunity!!!
So, without further ado, here is the first location that we visited!
Amanda :: You are so gorgeous! We had an absolute blast and we can’t to work with you again!!!

Love this one…

This is the previous picture at 100% resolution. I LOVE that both Toby and I are reflected in Amanda’s eye!!! This is seriously one of my favorite pictures ever of us doing what we do! = )

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to photograph Tejal and Chris. This couple is one of the most down to earth couples we have ever worked with. We really enjoy their company! In fact, when we first met with them, we ended up hanging out and talking about their jobs, our kids, etc. It was awesome. Their engagement shoot was just as fun. Seeing them interact with each other made me smile. For instance, one of the poses they wanted was the pose from the end of Notting Hill. If you’ve seen the movie, you know the one. It’s adorable.
As I went back through their pictures and tried to narrow down which ones to post, a line from Notting Hill kept running through my head. “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” Maybe it’s corny… I don’t care. If you know me, you know I’m corny. Anyway, to me it just summed up how Tejal and Chris are. They’re so real. So sweet. So thoughtful. Just a boy and a girl who love each other and care about the people around them. To give you an example, they not only remembered that Noah was born about a month after we met with them – they sent a card. How awesome is that?!
Tejal and Chris :: You guys are so wonderful. We’ve enjoyed both meeting you and photographing you and we cannot wait until your wedding. It’s going to be fantastic!!!
For all you photographers out there, this was the first official shoot that we used our 50mm f/1.4 lens and it was incredible!!! This was also the first shoot that I processed using Totally Rad Actions! They’re unbelievably fantastic as well! I highly recommend both!!! = )

Check out that ring!!! Wow! Nice job, Chris! = )

When I saw this one on the back of the camera, I knew it was magical. Chris was twirling her… I love the flare. I love their expressions. I love the trees. I just love it…

Holy gorgeousness!!!

Love this.

The Notting Hill pose:

We did the Notting Hill pose again and this was hands down my favorite shot of the pose. It’s not your typical shot, but I LOVE the emotion that Toby captured here… Beautiful.
